The pedagogical significance, principles, and practical approaches to the systematic assessment of students’ academic and language development are analyzed. Special attention is paid to formative, summative, interim, and self-assessment methods, as well as to practical examples that contribute to the development of students’ logical thinking, creative abilities, analytical skills, and practical competencies. Within the framework of the study, various assessment tools are considered, including tests, dictations, essays and creative written tasks, practical assignments, portfolio development, and the use of visual aids. The article also offers practical recommendations for teachers on assessing students’ language competence and optimizing the analysis of their academic achievements. These methods are aimed at fostering independent thinking, responsibility, motivation, and active participation in the learning process among primary school students. The proposed technologies promote the comprehensive development of learners’ intellectual, linguistic, and academic competencies within the educational process.
