Annotation. The article discusses the issues of the economic life of the Kyrgyz people of Scinjian. Kyrgyz traditionally occupy mountainous and foothill areas. At the same time, there are Kyrgyz people who mastered the plains around Kashgar and Lobnor in the Middle Ages and modern times. In total, about 200 thousand Kyrgyz live in Xinjiang. The absolute majority of them are concentrated in Kyzyl-Suu. Until the late 50s and early 60s of the 20th century, that is, collectivization, the Kyrgyz mainly occupied mountainous and foothill areas and engaged in cattle breeding combined with agriculture. The Kyrgyz, depending on their region of residence, kept various types of livestock. If in Tarbagatai, Tekes, Ak-Suu, and Kyzyl-Suu they keep mainly sheep, goats, cows, and horses, then in Khotan, Kargalyk, and Pamir, due to climatic conditions, they keep yaks, and then sheep, goats, cows, and horses. In all regions of Xinjiang, where Kyrgyz live, they prefer to keep camels, which perform the necessary function of Kyrgyz nomadic vehicles.
