Annotation. The study examines the works of Karatay Sartbaev and his methodological foundations. It analyzes K. Sartbaev’s activities aimed at developing language skills, specifically writing, reading, and speaking, among primary school students. The main focus of the academician’s work is on fostering children’s speech competence in the Kyrgyz language. Sartbaev’s pedagogical approach is characterized by its systematic structure, gradual progression, and consideration of the age-specific characteristics of younger students. Moreover, the author of the methodological materials viewed children as individuals within the learning process, thereby applying a learner-centered approach to education. The analysis of Sartbaev’s major works—Kyrgyz Tili, Alippe, and various teaching aids—revealed the key features of his methodology and the reasons these works became fundamental to the modern system of primary education. The study highlights Sartbaev’s invaluable contribution to science through the development of educational programs that later had a direct impact on the overall level of literacy and education in the country.
